Dyson

Showing this dog to real life has been an incredible joy i’ve had over the last two years. She’s transformed from this fearful, unsure, defensive dog to a proud, curious, friendly dog. I adopted her from the Boise Humane Society and we slowly worked through some small bites, tons of tantrums, and a distaste for cuddling.

I named her Dyson as a homage to both the vacuum cleaner as she’ll eat off the floor, and the incredible foundation towards STEM by the same creator, James Dyson.

Her nickname is “Adventure Dog”, as she’s the only one having more fun than me on the trail. She’ll run a marathon a day if I’d go with her. Here’s some tails about how we grew together.

Dyson and I began right off the bat with both of us underprepared for our new life. I had never had a big dog, let alone a husky. Dyson had struggles with other dogs and some intense resource guarding issues. Having a dog with size and strength demands respect, and as I learned how to communicate with her, she started to trust me.

The first hike we were on, a stranger mentioned how they could never take their husky off leash.
